Welcome to the website for The Ratiu Scholarships. If you are considering studying in the UK or if you represent an organisation or business, which is interested in The Ratiu Foundation and the opportunities it offers, this is where you can find out more. This site gives details about who is eligible for scholarships and how to apply. You can download the appropriate application form directly from the web, fill it in and send it by post. The Ratiu Scholarships, funded by The Ratiu Foundation, are awarded to Romanian students to study a wide range of subjects in the UK. The scholarships enable talented graduates and young professionals to become familiar with the UK and gain skills, which will benefit Romania. The Ratiu Foundation also offers annual seed funding for innovative projects, principally in Romania, which foster Romanian arts and civilisation, heritage, civil society, democracy, and environmental protection. Foundation offers 50 annual scholarships principally
for postgraduate courses, conference participations, travel grants, and other
short term courses including academic research. The Trustees will need to be satisfied that you are able to fully fund your course of studies before the The Ratiu Foundation will release the requested funds: - to your bank account in the UK (for living expenses) - or to the university account (for tuition fees). What are the selection criteria for application? A typical successful applicant would be: i. A graduate with proven academic skills. ii. Committed to return to Romania and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country through implementing the new skills and knowledge acquired in the UK. iii. Established in a career, with a track record of excellence and achievement, and the prospect of becoming a leader in his/her chosen field. iv. Have a clear idea how their scholarship will benefit their country on their return. v. Have good English Language skills, as most UK Higher Education Institutions require a minimum IELTS of 6.5 for admission onto Postgraduate courses. |
